Adverse Effects

Side effects of Betamethasone + Gentamicin + Tolnaftate Topical : Continuous application without interruption may result in local atrophy of the skin, striae and superficial vascular dilation. Rarely, patients may experience local mild burning or irritation. Mechanism of Action

Betamethasone dipropionate is a synthetic fluorinated corticosteroid. It is active topically and produces a rapid and sustained response in those inflammatory dermatoses that are normally responsive to topical corticosteroid therapy. Gentamicin sulfate is a bactericidal antibiotic active against a wide variety of pathogenic gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. Tolnaftate is an antifungal which inhibits growth of dermatophytes e.g. Epidermophyton, Microsporum, trichophyton spp, and Malassezia furfur by distorting the hyphae and stopping mycelial growth. It is inactive against Candida spp or bacteria. At a combination of 3 agents with distinct pharmacological effects, Gentriderm offers superior anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, bactericidal and fungicidal action for treatment of inflammatory and allergic dermatological conditions threatened or complicated by bacterial and/or common fungal infections.
