Indications
Colimex Drop is used for:
Flatulence, Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Adult Dose
Oral
Flatulence
Adult: 2-4 tsf after meals and at bedtime
0.6ml-1.9ml drops 3-4 times daily
Child Dose
Renal Dose
Administration
May be taken with or without food. Take after meals & at bedtime for best results.
Contra Indications
Hypersensitivity, Closed-angle glaucoma, Myasthenia gravisGI obstruction, Obstructive uropathy, Severe ulcerative colitis, Reflux esophagitis, Infants aged <6 months (reports of seizure, respiratory failure, death)
Precautions
Use caution in patients with mild-moderate ulcerative colitis, renal/hepatic impairment, benign prostatic hyperplasia, congestive heart failure

Side effects of Dicyclomine + Simethicone (Dimethicone) :
Loose stool, Dizziness, Blurred vision, Somnolence, Nervousness, Weakness, Abdominal distension
Mechanism of Action
Dicyclomine: Anticholinergic/antispasmodic; no effect on acid secretion, but direct smooth muscle relaxant effects; blocks the action of ACh at parasympathetic sites in smooth muscle, secretory glands, and CNS.
Simethicone: Changes surface tension of gas bubbles and causes collapse of foam bubbles, thus allowing easier passage of gas and preventing gas pockets in gastrointestinal tract.
