Indications
Desowen Lotion Syrup is used for:
Psoriasis, Eczema, Contact dermatitis, Corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, Seborrheic dermatitis
Adult Dose
Topical/Cutaneous
Corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses
Adult: Apply sparingly onto the affected areas 2-4 times/day.
Discontinue therapy when control is achieved.

Contra Indications
Hypersensitivity to any of the components. Primary infective skin conditions.
Precautions
Caution when using in paed patients. Evaluate periodically for evidence of HPA-axis suppression. In the event of secondary infections use appropriate antibiotics and discontinue topical steroid. Pregnancy and lactation.
Lactation: excretion in milk unknown; use with caution

Adverse Effects
Side effects of Desonide 0.05% Topical :
Burning, itching, irritation, scaling, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, contact dermatitis, skin peeling, transient erythema. Skin atrophy, Striae, Acneform lesions, Pigmentation changes
Mechanism of Action
Desonide is a corticosteroid used mainly for its glucocorticoid activity in the treatment of various skin disorders.
