Indications

Dexpure 10 Tablet is used for: Used in the treatment of peptic ulcer and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Adult Dose

Oral Adult Usual dose: 10 mg once daily in the morning for 4 to 8 weeks depending upon response of patient. Maintenance of healing of GERD may suffice with a lower dose of 5 mg once daily.

Dexrabeprazole sodium tablets should not be chewed or crushed, but should be swallowed whole.

Hypersensitivity to dexrabeprazole

Precautions

General: Symptomatic response to therapy does not preclude the presence of gastric malignancy. Pregnancy. lactation: Since many drugs are excreted in milk, caution should be exercised when Dexrabeprazole sodium is administered to a nursing mother.

Interactions

No clinically significant interactions with drugs metabolized by the CYP450 system. An interaction with compounds (e.g. Ketoconazole) which are dependent on gastric pH for absorption may occur due to the magnitude of acid suppression.

Adverse Effects

Side effects of Dexrabeprazole Sodium : Headache, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, asthenia, flatulence, rash & dry mouth.

Mechanism of Action

Dexrabeprazole is the chirally pure R (+) enantiomer of racemate Rabeprazole. Dexrabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor.
