Indications

Gip Tablet is used for: Dyspepsia, Chronic gastritis

Adult Dose

Adult: PO – The recommended dose is 50 mg 3 times/day.

Child Dose

Administration

Taken by mouth, on an empty stomach.

Contra Indications

Contraindicated in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding, obstruction, and hypersensitivity.

Precautions

Caution needed for pregnant women and elderly people. It may cause dizziness, advise not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.

Adverse Effects

Side effects of Itopride : Most Common - Diarrhea, constipation, headache, abdominal pain, irritated feeling and dizziness. Genitourinary - Spontaneous milk secretion and breast enlargement in male. Miscellaneous - Decrease in white blood cells.

Mechanism of Action

Itopride is an acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor and D2 dopamine receptor antagonist. Itopride is used as a gastroprokinetic agent.
