Indications
Otek Ac Plus Ear Drop is used for:
Otitis externa and other inflammatory conditions where bacterial infection is present or suspected
Bacterial infection of the eye
Adult Dose
Aural/Ophthalmic
Adult
2-3 drops instilled into the ear/eye every 2-3 hours until control is achieved, then can be reduced

Viral, fungal or tuberculous conditions.Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation
Precautions
Topical administration of corticosteroids to pregnant animals can cause abnormalities of foetal development. The relevance of this finding to human beings has not been established. However, topical steroids should not be used extensively in pregnancy, e.g. in large amounts or for prolonged periods

Side effects of Lidocaine + Beclometasone + Clotrimazole + Chloramphenicol :
Burning and itching sensation. Ototoxicity.
Mechanism of Action
This is a combination of three medicines: Lidocaine/Lignocaine, Betamethasone and Chloramphenicol which treat ear infections. Lidocaine/Lignocaine is a local anesthetic which works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain thereby decreasing pain sensation. Betamethasone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy after an allergy or infection. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
