Ilaprazole

Indications

Ilaprazole is used for: Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease and dyspepsia.

Adult Dose

Oral Adult Tablet 1 tablet once daily.

Child Dose

Renal Dose

Administration

need to be taken at least 30 minutes before meal.

Contra Indications

Ilaprazole administration is contraindicated in conditions such as allergic reactions and in children who are below the age of 18 years.

Ilaprazole interacts with drugs and products such as clarithromycin, midazolam, ketoconazole and amoxicillin;

Adverse Effects

Side effects of Ilaprazole : The common side effects of using ilaprazole are abdominal pain, constipation, dizziness, dry mouth, fatigue, flatulence and headache.

Mechanism of Action

Ilaprazole is a proton-pump inhibitor which works by suppressing secretion of gastric acid by specifically inhibiting the H+/K+-atpase enzyme in the gastric parietal cells. Inhibition of this enzyme and blocking of the proton pump blocks the acid formation pathway, reducing gastric acid production.
