Nepafenac 0.1% Eye prep
Indications
Nepafenac 0.1% Eye prep is used for:
Occular pain and inflammation, Cystoid macular edema
Adult Dose
Prevention & treatment of post-op pain & inflammation
Instill 1 drop 3 times daily 1 day prior to cataract surgery and continued on the day of surgery and through the first 2 weeks of the post-operative period.
Prevention of post-operative macular oedema in diabetic patients
Instill 1 drop 3 times daily 1 day before surgery and continued on the day of surgery and through the first 6 weeks of the post-operative period.

Contra Indications
Contraindicated in patients with previously demonstrated hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in the formulation or to other NSAIDs.
Precautions
Nepafenac should be used with caution in patients with known bleeding tendencies or who are receiving medications which may prolong bleeding time.

Pregnancy-Lactation
Interactions
Topical NSAIDs & corticosteroids. May increase the risk of haemorrhage w/ drugs that prolong bleeding time.

Capsular opacity,Decr visual acuity,Foreign body sensation,Increased IOP,Sticky sensation,Conjunctival edema,Corneal edema,Dry eye,Headache,HTN,Lid margin crusting,N/V,Ocular discomfort,Ocular hyperemia,Ocular pain,Ocular pruritus,Photophobia.Tearing,Vitreous detachment
Mechanism of Action
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory prodrug, converted to amfenac which putatively inhibits prostaglandin biosynthesis.
