Indications

Lobate GM Cream is used for: Corticosteriod-responsive dermatoses w/ secondary infection by bacteria & fungus.

Adult Dose

Topical/Cutaneous Corticosteriod-responsive dermatoses w/ secondary infection Adult: Cream/Oint: Apply gently to the affected area 2-3 times daily.

Child Dose

Corticosteriod-responsive dermatoses w/ secondary infection Child > 12 yrs: Cream/Oint: Apply gently to the affected area 2-3 times daily.

Contra Indications

Hypersensitivity. Childn <12 yrs. Long-term treatment of ulcerative conditions, rosacea, pruritus; presence of acute infections.

Precautions

Glaucoma; hypothyroidism; hepatic failure, renal impairment; psychoses; childn and elderly. Should not enter eyes.

Adverse Effects

Side effects of Clobetasol + Gentamicin + Miconazole Topical : Perioral dermatitis, striae esp in flexures. Dermal and epidermal atrophy esp on the face, steroid purpura, erythema, pruritus, photosensitivity, irritation, burning, contact dermatitis.

Mechanism of Action

Clobetasol is a very potent corticosteroid used in short-term treatment of various inflammatory skin conditions. Gentamicin interferes w/ bacterial protein synthesis by binding to 30S and 50S ribosomal subunits resulting in a defective bacterial cell membrane. Miconazole inhibits ergosterol synthesis thus damaging fungal cell wall membrane and increases its permeability, allowing leakage of nutrients.
